Pronunciation: AH-bah-ree-el
Who She Is
Abariel is the Watcher of clouds, tenth among the Eerkodeshoi in their order of inscription. Her name means “passing of God.” She is a living, angelic embodiment of clouds — the way Debariel embodies fire or Rahaviel embodies wind — carrying God’s presence with her wherever she moves across the sky.
Made New, Not Copied
When God created clouds, He wasn’t repeating or copying anything He’d already made — each part of creation, including Abariel, was something entirely new to His mind. When she was born, there was no thought of pollution or smog in her — only the sweet, holy first cloud His Son made.
Body of God’s Presence
God made clouds to be the body of His presence. They teach mankind to prepare for judgment as they feel Him near, carry God around so He may survey the earth and the workmanship of His hands, and carry always the constant feeling of the reality of His presence — this is why Christ will come again in the clouds of heaven, and why they received Him at His ascension.
Guardian of the Law and of Passages
Abariel carries the knowledge required to establish righteousness and purification, and is their elder. She is guardian of the law and the prophets, master of personal study and inquiry, and guardian angel of students. The clouds mark and record the passages of man — birthings, blessings, ordinations, marriage, the taking of the covenant, and coming of age — and no such worship should exclude them.
The Son’s Mantle
Abariel is the mantle of affection the Son has for the Father — His coat of many colors — and the herald the Son uses to announce His Father. Wherever a cloud is seen, the presence of God is passing by.
Their Testimony
The clouds feel the primordial presence of the Great One, and will accuse all men of the blindness of their minds at the last day.
Their Creation
On the second day after Abariel was created, the Lord met with the little cloud and gave her a whole community to support and love her — big clouds, little clouds, strong clouds, fun clouds — with activities to make them happy: raining, hugging the earth, traveling to see its sights, climbing mountains, carrying the thunder to inspire the strong and frighten the weak. Their lives are filled with excitement and adventure — which is why they are guardians of students and those who seek to learn.
Repentance and Guardianship
Before approaching for advice, first repent for your doubt.
Her Place Among the High Priests
Goker Harim I, sixteenth of the High Priests, is brother to Abariel.
