Pronunciation: buh-RAH-kah

Who She Is

Baraka is Enoch’s mother, a holy woman of the land of Anach, far to the south and east. She is the wife of Jared, the sixth from Yaatsekawd — which makes her son Enoch the seventh generation. She is known as Baraka the worshipper.

The Meaning of Her Name

Baraka means to bless God — Strong’s #1288. It is tied also to #1305, to clarify, to make bright, to make plain upon stone tablets.

Her mother Awkhoo named her daughters after the Pool of Heaven: “The first is Baraka the mother of Enoch, and her name means one who is blessed of God who kneels at the pool” (Grandmothers 5:35). She is “called Baraka the worshipper by God and man” (Enoch, Seth 1:62).

Her Faithfulness

She refused to yield to the persuasions of Semihazah, standing firm in her faith even when her husband was not present with her in it — she stood as the wife of a high priest without him. The Watcher Ebedel knew her as one who would carry forward the tradition of writing on stone tablets.

The Threat Against Her Son

While she carried Enoch, God revealed to Cavah that the son of darkness had laid evil plans against the child. Cavah journeyed through violent country, with Azura at her side, to reach Baraka, deliver her child safely, anoint him, and prophesy over him. This was the occasion of Cavah’s great prophecy.
