Pronunciation: EL-dah
What It Is
Elda means simply “God is here.” It is the name of His abode in the midst of eternity (Grandmothers 3:5). The Handbook says it plainly: Elda is where Jesus’s Father, Anokeesed, lives.
The Nature of Elda
Elda is absolute eternity; the edge of eternity is defined eternity, the realm shaped by the sanctity of agency and the power of righteousness (Melchizedek 2:147). In Elda, the Eerkodeshiy are spirits, just as Anokeesed is a spirit. Ebedel, the Rock of Ariel, told Melchizedek that eternity there is so infinite it cannot be measured (Melchizedek 2:10-11). Elda is also described as filled with mists of living water (Melchizedek 10:151).
Things Named for Elda
- Tablets of Elda — tablets the Lord referred to by this name, among them the Guidance Tablet bearing the original Ten Commandments (Grandmothers 3:5), one of the very tablets Motsah gave to Moses on Mount Sinai (Grandmothers 3:6).
- Star of Elda — the elder Urim, bequeathed by the Lord upon Jacob, His servant Israel (Moses 1:53).
- Council of Elda — the council of the Eerkodeshiy, which questioned Melchizedek (Melchizedek 2:11).
- Covenant of Elda — the covenant between the Lord and His Father concerning the structure and function of creation (Melchizedek, Little Book 2:9).
- Divisions of the Authority of Elda — the ministerial orders Anokeesed calls “the men of His right hand,” or the men of Eshyawd (Enoch 11:26).
In Song
The song of righteousness of Tipharah includes the line “I came from Elda to this place” (II Achee 1:95).
