Pronunciation: her-MOH-nee
His Place Among the Fallen Watchers
Eleventh to Semihazah. His name means “of Mount Hermon.” Bound to the element of sulfur.
His Original Name and Definition
When first created, Hermoni held the definition “God has authority over everything in existence, and only He can give it.” Had he kept this, he would have kept mankind respecting only those with authority from God — an “expert” in any field would be recognized only in relation to God, who alone would be the source of being “qualified.” His original name was Pethachi, “of Mount Pethach.” When he sinned, his name changed.
It was Enoch who gave him the name Pethachi when he named the Decadarchoi: “sulfur he called Pethachi for he is to honor and preserve the ways of Eden” (Enoch, Bedal 10:74). The name comes from Mount Pethach.
What He Chose Instead
Hermoni took authority for himself, originating the concept that something opposed to God can command the respect of authority. He holds the definition that man can, by intangible means, recognize and create authority capable of controlling and defining human society for evil. He is now the chief element in the incense of the foul and dark.
What He Teaches
Hermoni teaches magic, sorcery, and the evil arts, and the loosing of spells. He is master of witches, of frightful monsters, and of those who have no conscience. He is master of oaths and the binding of curses, the supporting spirit behind those “certified” and officially qualified by man, and patron of those who make others feel helpless, in constant danger, and never completely adequate.
