Pronunciation: ZAB-dee

His Place Among the High Priests

Zabdee is nineteenth in the order of the 24 High Priest Communities. He is brother to Winter. His Watcher is Shabathiel, “Rest of God,” who teaches kindness.

What He Established

Zabdee established the capability and surety of mankind before God — that Messiah could comfort the Father and do all things according to His will.

His Name and Family

Zabdee’s name means Given of God. His wife, Shalom, was the younger sister of Joseph, placing him within Messiah’s own family circle. It was the policy of the Church that no one should interfere with the life of Joseph and Mary’s family, yet Zabdee, as High Priest, bore direct responsibility for Messiah’s safety and instruction.

Protecting Messiah from Herod

Zabdee had been High Priest only three months when Messiah’s family fled for their lives from Herod. He consulted the Lord by Urim among the Men of Renown at Secacah, and the Lord instructed that all the Eerkodeshoi be asked to protect Messiah from the king’s designs.

What He Named the Lord

Watching young Messiah moved by the song and dance of Eve and the blessing of the altar at Secacah, Zabdee was constrained, as High Priest of the Covenant, to change the wording of his proclamation — no longer to say “Messiah,” but to say “the Son of God.”

“Master”

At a meal after Messiah returned from a three-day solitary journey, He leaned toward Zabdee and asked, “Master, who is the God of Shabuwa?” Filled with the Holy Ghost, Zabdee could hardly speak, and answered, “The Messiah of Israel.” Messiah said nothing more — but when He returned home, His parents said He had left a boy and returned a man.
