Pronunciation: EH-beh-del

Who She Is

Ebedel is rocks — a grandmother to all men. Her name means “Servant of God,” given to rocks who feel themselves to be servants of God. Those that do not feel this do not deserve the name Ebedel, but are instead called “Azab,” meaning “to forsake the Great One.” She is the master of the dependable and the herald preeminent of witness (Handbook, pp. 535–536).

Her Place in Inscription

In the present order of the Watchers she is fourth to Debariel (Handbook, p. 535). Yet in Elda she was seen in the role of leadership, “like one who is first inscribed” (Handbook, p. 523). She is “the Rock of Ariel, and first inscribed among the rocks of the earth” (Melchizedek 2:11), and the Lord said to her, “Ebedel, this day you are my rock of witness as the first inscribed in the Council of Elda” (Melchizedek 8:5).

Voice of the Council of Elda

When the eleven of the Council of Elda had a question for Anokeesed, they conferred together with Ebedel, and she presented it to Him (Melchizedek 2:11–12). It was Ebedel who first called Anokeesed “Father” — the first time He had ever been called Father (Melchizedek 2:34). Anokeesed sang a song of joy, and Ebedel learned it from Him so she could give it to a holy nation; it is called the rock song (Melchizedek 2:63).

What She Teaches

Ebedel teaches man to give his life to God and be virtuous, and that each day is important. She is element for virtuous women, master of loving repentance, and takes special delight in harmony. She is a friend to all who had to leave or give up family to come to Zion or unto the Lord, and guardian of those cast out by the wicked. She feels responsible for man’s sin and corruption and longs for Messiah’s work to be done. She loves the Lord more than any other Watcher, and God has promised her a great recompense for her faithfulness.

The Stones of Ebedel Called Urim

The Urim carried in the bosom of the child Enoch were “the stones of Ebedel called Urim,” and even the Lord God would in the end be influenced by them; none among the Eerkodeshoi could comprehend the forces of truth they would send forth (Enoch, Seth 3:3–5). Enoch was taught by the Watchers called Ebedel, Kabodiel, and Rachatsel, though he did not know their names (Enoch, Seth 3:26). When the stones of the earth contended over who would preside over the lives of men, the stones of Ebedel who were steadfast toward God brought the Urim in the midst of a pure fire and pure water; those among Ebedel who rebelled and fell away, together with one third of the hosts of heaven, brought a weapon using a filthy fire (Enoch, Seth 3:58).

Witness to the First Parents

When Yaatsekawd and Cavah returned to Simca, the place where they had first met, Ebedel greeted them with kindness. Cavah told the elders of Ebedel about the sheep and the esseeb, and sounds of joy issued forth out of them; but when she told them about the serpent, the rocks answered her not a word (Enoch, Seth 6:65–67). Ebedel knew that Mowtsoor was lying in wait like a predator to catch his prey (Enoch, Seth 6:72).

The Rock of Repentance

At the council in heaven, Ebedel answered — she who was the very rock of Ariel, upon which Yaatsekawd and Cavah first found the joys in their forgiveness: “Let our Yawd be only composed of those who are founded upon the Rock of Repentance, of whom Motsah the Lamb bears witness” (Enoch, Bedal 8:41). The altar called Ariel in the days of Yaatsekawd is chief among the Ebedel of the earth (Enoch, Seth 7:58).

Repentance and Guardianship

When approaching Ebedel for advice, first repent of desires for self-glory or habits of subtlety. She is the elder of all those who long for salvation.

Witness of the Written Record

Baraka the worshipper was known to Ebedel to be one who would bless God by establishing writing on stone tablets (Enoch, Seth 1:63). Seth obtained a promise from God by the mouth of Ebedel that the Lord would always speak to man, and Ebedel gave her word that his record would be upon the earth for a multitude of days, even unto the end of the earth (I Achee 2:42).

Present at Every Moment of Messiah’s Life

Ebedel is the body of God’s great love for His Son. She was the birthplace of Messiah. Evil used the Decadarchoi in the temptation that said, “If you are the Christ turn these stones into bread.” She was where Christ went to sleep and found shade in the Garden of Gethsemane, and He always heard her voice and hid among her from those who sought His life. She held His cross, held His body a brief while, and was rolled away to witness the resurrection. It was Ebedel who would not allow Him to be cast over the cliff. Every day of His life was in companionship with her — she personally witnessed and felt every human breath of Messiah (Handbook, p. 536). Before His public ministry, Messiah tarried among the stalwart of Ebedel upon the slopes of the Golan (Moses 16:93).

She Spoke for Ruath

When Messiah asked if there were any among the Eerkodeshoi who would speak for Ruath, Ebedel stepped forward. She had been called upon to hold the body of his victim, and she asked how it was to be viewed that his victim was not dead but was brought back to life — by the willingness of Messiah to forgive those who brought about the death of Eleazer. Messiah answered that because Eleazer was raised up to life again, Ruath was forgiven (II Achee 8:82–84).

Her Deeds

It was Ebedel who struck Goliath, not David. She is a reliable witness to any agreement with God, storehouse of valuables, and can secure lost visions for safe keeping — she will never forget a vision or created purpose of any creation or human. She is the defender of Messiah, and God will grant any request of the righteous when it is preceded with her song.

Her Place Among the High Priests

Seth, second of the High Priests, is brother to Ebedel. Emzara, mother of Melchizedek, came forth into life in a crevice of a rock, and Ebedel is her principal Eerkodeshoi (Melchizedek 8:215).
